Times Past May End Soon !!!

I do not know if you saw the letter I sent out. But in short Ning is raising our fee to 500 dollars per month starting Jan 1, 2016. I can not and will not pay those greedy vultures that.

There  are two alternatives. One is to delete some of our old content that was here when we first started to  bring our storage below 500 GB. Current it is about 650 GB.  If it remains below 500 we stay at our current rate the charge.. That 600 plus GB is mostly back from the early years when Ning allowed 100 mb uploads before they stopped it. ( bait and switch tactic)

There is no way to delete it but for us to just go and start deleting the oldest post in the groups. Also can delete some of the inactive members which will automatically remove all there content at once, and then send them an invite to rejoin.

The  other alternative is to move away from Ning. I am exploring this second option also by setting a new Ning site on Spruz.   http://timespast.spruz.com/    I have talked with them about importing content from Ning and they are working on that. They can import all our members from Ning for us.

I really like the features of Spruz. I set up one Group there just to play with. Need to copy any paste all our groups there if we go this route.  As far as storage there the 20 dollar a month plan gives only 10 gig of storage.  If we pay what we currently are paying now on Ning, our storage would be unlimited for all members. They have a file sharing function which seems to allow large file sizes on what I have tried.

I am pursuing the Spruz move as a back up if all fails with Ning.

I really need your input on these two options. It is a new adventure either way.
