9 September 2001 BBC World Service 0:01am THE DAY OF THE TRIFFIDS by John Wyndham Part One Bill Masen wakes up in hospital after an operation on his eyes, to find that while he can see, the rest of the world has gone blind. Has this been caused by the spectacular æcomet' that filled the sky with green light the previous night and which Bill didn't see because his head was in bandages? London is now a dangerous place where frightened people feel their way through the streets, struggling to survive. There is an added danger that no has anticipated: the triffids - a species of plant that walks, ætalks' and kills. A plant that has been farmed by Man and now threatens to destroy him. John Wyndham's classic science fiction novel was first published fifty years ago, but his vision of a world destroyed by rampant and unwise use of technology has a strong contemporary resonance. It is dramatised for radio by Lance Dann. Directed by Rosalynd Ward
23 September 2001 BBC World Service 0:01am THE DAY OF THE TRIFFIDS by John Wyndham Part Two Bill Masen is one of the few people left in England, and probably the world, who was not blinded by the strange comet that swept over the earth. He is an expert on triffids, carnivorous plants whose stinging tendrils are lethal to humans. As the triffids begin to dominate the countryside, small groups of survivors attempt to build sustainable communities. But not everyone is working for the common good, and group rivalries put Bill and his loved ones in danger. Meanwhile the triffids seem unstoppable. The concluding part of John Wyndham's classic novel has been dramatised for radio by Lance Dann. Directed by Rosalynd Ward

All I had and could find was 48K. I had hoped you would reply and have better. I knew i had a better copy from extra but alas it went along with 2 and a half Tb of other good stuff just waiting to get large enough to archive on BluRay. I have good copies of the 50s and the 60s encode but not this one. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You Bob. ------------------------- R
