This was a series of documentaries by WNYC, from which the actual readings, interviews, music, and essays have been extracted, with little or no introductory material surviving.

The WNYC essay which begins the series is almost funny now, as dated as it is. For example, tyhey take pains to introduce the "local newspaper, called The Village Voice." :>)

Some of the pieces are famous, others less well-known except to devotees of beat.

There's even a short piece by Edd "Kookie" Byrnes!

The initial piece is presented separately, then the full set is presented in five split ZIP archives. The pieces are presented alphabetically by author, as no confirmable order of broadcast (if all actually WERE broadcast) has been found.
