I remember something said on another show about Chuck Berry. They said they were waiting for him to arrive for a concert. The show was ready to start and no Chuck. He hadn't called to say he was to be late and they couldn't reach him anywhere. Everyone was freaking out, the audience was calling for him, and the concert hall manager was getting really nervous thinking Chuck was a no-show. Then someone said that he was there. Chuck pulled up in an old beat up car. He was already dressed for the show and was carrying a beat up guitar case. Without saying a word, he walked in, took out his guitar, went straight to the stage, plugged in his guitar and started playing. No warm up or anything. Didn't care if the backup band was ready or not. On stage, he was all business made it look easy. The audience loved it.
When he was done playing, he made a quick stop at the manager's office for his money and was out the same door.
Very interesting trivia.
Thanks!
