A Royal Gala Programme Of Radio Variety 1953
Staged in the Concert Hall of Broadcasting House, this special variety show features the cream of radio comedians and entertainers. Recorded in front of Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh in celebration of Coronation year.
Stars include Peter Brough and Archie Andrews from "Educating Archie"; Bebe and Ben Lyons from "Life With The Lyons"; Bernard Braden and Barbara Kelly from "Bedtime With Braden"; the Doom Family, featuring Hermione Gingold and Alfred Marks, in "Mrs Doom’s Diary"; Kenneth Horne and Richard Murdoch from "Much-Binding-In-The-Marsh"; and Al Read. The compere is Ted Ray (pictured).
