There are a some very important things to remember about Dameron.
First:
Dameron was a series that, for much of its run, aired on a single station - KVI, in a very small area of the country: in the Puget Sound area of Washington state. (Only other Gene Autry-owned stations of the Golden West Radio Network (all located along the the West Coast) would have carried even part of the series' run.)
The number of collectors who got a hold of them, through recording or trades, was probably very small; probably less than 10.
Two collectors that I knew who had either all or nearly all Dameron episodes are deceased.
Second:
not all available shows are available in MP3 format;
there are probably many thousands, if not tens of thousands,
of OTR and NTR shows that still only exist in tape formats.
Some older collectors are satisfied with tape copies.
I believe that this is the case with Dameron.
Third:
In the 1980's, a couple of OTR dealers had as many as forty-five Dameron episodes in their
Paper Catalogs.
One dealer has long since gone out business.
And
the other no longer sells them because he considers them under Copyright.
Now we should all stop applauding and start throwing money!
Seriously, it would be nice if everyone who enjoys these shows stopped by the website
http://jimfrenchproductions.com
and bought a show or two.
You can get instant gratification by choosing MP3 downloads or get tactile satisfaction by ordering the CDs.
From my The Adventures of Dameron log:
Audition/Pilot Show
The initial appearance of the Dameron and Emile characters was in the episode 002, "A Spark of the Sun," of the TOWER PLAYHOUSE series.
In that episode, which aired on 08/01/1972, Dameron was a sailor/soldier of fortune; Emile was a cafe owner who was involved in espionage.
Just a few weeks later THE ADVENTURES OF DAMERON became a series.
