Series Description:
SCI_FI RADIO was a modern science fiction anthology radio series,
heard over National Public Radio stations. Like X MINUS ONE and
DIMENSION X, it dramatized some of the best science fiction in print
by some of the best authors of the day. You'll find stories by
Poul Anderson, Ray Bradbury, Arthur C. Clarke, Philip K. Dick, Ursula
K. LeGuin, Walter M. Miller, Jr., Robert Silverberg, Robert Sheckley
and Roger Zelazny. The entire series was produced by Kevin Singer.
The productions were well done, with good scripts, although the acting
is sometimes a little stiff, possibly because of the use of unseasoned
radio actors. Each of the 26 broadcasts were 30 minutes in length.
Eight of the shows were in 2 parts, offering half one week and the
conclusion the following week.
Since this is a modern series, the shows are not easily found and
have never been commercial released. Off-the-air recordings of all 26
shows are available among collectors.
Log Comments:
As with many new series, information on this series is not easy to
find. The majority of my information came in bits and pieces from
collectors and an occasional web site. As with all modern NPR series,
the broadcast dates may be in error, since they could be broadcast at
almost anytime.
Although I had a number of author's names for the original work, "The
OTR Plot Spot" web site provided many more.
They listed one title, "The Light of Other Days", which did not show
up on any other list. It is shown at the end of the log.

THANK YOU for these RICK, by CROM as always U ROCK!!!!!!
Yes you did. This one is at a bit rate of 112 stereo and yours is at 64 mono. I left them both because we have those that like higher bitrates and those that like lower for space concerns. I would have just linked yours, but I found the better set. Yours is still in Scifi. I only delete the lower sets when they are my own posts. If you have upgrades of anything on the site post it and let me know if the lower one is mine and I will check them out. ----------------------------- Rick
Yes,it did take a minute to realize that this set was the higher quality, hard drive chewing version. And, it contains the complete 'Grantha_Sighting_and_call_Me_Joe_Pt_1' audio. Without wanting to sound ungrateful, James' version had only the 'Grantha Sighting' play & was missing the 'Call Me Joe Pt1' portion.
Many thanks for both of these! There are definitely reasons to grab both.
Thanks Marty, I found this one while I was looking for documentation to use while I linked james' set and I cannot resist better encodes. The stereo is definitely intact in this set. I am glad you are enjoying them.

A note of thanks to old "TGW" for this set. (His nom is in the comments and the encode tag.)
I thought I recognized his handiwork when I saw the unusual bitrate. :>)
