This show aired on WMUK, college radio station of Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, Michigan. The shows were announced as being produced by WMUK Special Projects and used local actors. Most of the episodes are updated versions from Dimension X and X Minus One. The shows listed here are from the first season. Apparently there was a second season but episodes in this series are difficult to find. In 1975, "Pail of Air" was awarded the Ohio State Award for "network quality radio drama". "Cold Equation" won a Peabody Award in 1978 "for championing radio drama".

"The Cold Equations" is a science fiction short story by Tom Godwin, first published in "Astounding
Magazine" in 1954. In 1970, the Science Fiction Writers of America selected it as one of the best science fiction short stories published before 1965, and it was therefore included in "The Science Fiction Hall of Fame," Volume One, 1929-1964.

6 With Folded Hands

"With Folded Hands ..." is a 1947 science fiction novelette by Jack Williamson. Willamson's influence for this story was in the aftermath of World War II and the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and his
concern that "some of the technological creations we had developed with the best intentions might have
disastrous consequences in the long run. The novelette, which first appeared in the July 1947 issue of
"Astounding Science Fiction," may also be read as a parable of the totalitarian or the nanny state. It was the first of several Astounding stories adapted for NBC's radio series "Dimension X." With its sequel "... And Searching Mind", the story became a part of The Humanoids (1948), a collection of linked stories, and

Williamson followed with a sequel, The Humanoid Touch, published in 1980.

"Born of Man and Woman" is a science fiction short story by Richard Matheson, originally published in 1950. It was his first professional sale, written when he was twenty-two years old. "Born of Man and Woman" was among the stories selected in 1970 by the Science Fiction Writers of America as one of the best science fiction short stories of all time. As such, it was published in "The Science Fiction Hall of Fame Volume One, 1929-1964."

"The Defenders" is a 1953 science fiction short story by American author Philip K. Dick, and the basis for
Dick's 1964 novel "The Penultimate Truth." It is one of several of his short stories to be expanded into a
novel.

15 Protection

16 Saucer of Loneliness
When a flying saucer is found in New York's Central Park, the woman who receives a message from outer
space refuses to say what it is! Author: Theodore Sturgeon.
"A Saucer of Loneliness" is a short story by Theodore Sturgeon which first appeared in "Galaxy Magazine" in February 1953. In 2004, "A Saucer Of Loneliness" was nominated for a 'Retro Hugo' for Short Story 1954. It was also the title of the seventh book in the anthology series "The Collected Short Stories of Theodore Sturgeon", published in 2000.
