700+ albums of Christmas (and Chanukah) music

With Robert's permission, I am posting a huge collection of Christmas music, both pop and classical, ranging from Alvin and the Chipmunks to Zydeco, from Animaniacs to Andre Rieu, from The Three Tenors to the Three Stooges.

There are over 700 albums in the collection with more than 9300 songs.

In addition, I have collected 250 versions of White Christmas for those who want to create a playlist to drive the in-laws crazy.

You'll also find numerous productions of:

Handel's Messiah Oratorio

J.S. Bach's Christmas Oratorio

Tschaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite  (including versions by Spike Jones and Duke Ellington)

and, finally, Chanukah music from The Jewish Wedding Band.

Now that Santa has appeared at Herald Square, Christmas season has started, so I've reopened the files.

  • I got a msg that said "these files are no longer publicly available," but I logged back in and I got access again.

    • Should be there until January 6.

Worked for me from PC and from tablet.

    • It appears to have a time limit.  If you stay in the files too long, the access stops (the downloads turn into "hmtl"s instead of "mp3"s -- then I have to re-log in.  No problem.

    • bizarre ....

  • BUMP - Merry Christmas 2015!

  • Bob,  This collection has so many choices--enough to make your head spin.

For starters I am downloading and listening to:

The Bach, selections from Christmas on the Radio BBC, Academy and Chorus of St. Martin, The French album Les Plus Belle Chansons de Noel, Brazilian Christmas, Dave Brubeck, Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James, Harry Belafonte, Jane Monheit, Jazz Noel, Oscar Peterson, and Pittsburgh Symphony Brass.  More will follow, I know.  Thanks for all this fun and pleasure!

  • Many thanks!!

    • you're welcome!

Just curious - what kind of music are you grabbing?

    • Thank you.  Merry Christmas!

    • I've been collecting Xmas and Holiday music for years -- used to be easy when the music blogs were prevalent.  I also used to buy a lot when there were record & CD stores.
I'm going through your files to sample what I don't already have.  I don't have a lot of country stuff, so I'm checking those out.  I've bought a lot of 1950s-1960s holiday pop, so I have most of those.  Some of the novelty things (like Dr Demento and Homer & Jethro) I don't have.  I have to check the track list on one of the Tony Bennett LPs to see if it's the old one I've been looking for.

I've been sampling a wide range of genres.  Thanks again.
