You are protected, in short, by your ability to love! The only protection that can possibly work against the lure of power like Voldemort's! In spite of all the temptation you have endured, all the suffering, you remain pure of heart, just as pure as you were at the age of eleven, when you stared into a mirror that reflected your heart's desire, and it showed you only the way to thwart Lord Voldemort, and not immortality or riches."
    —Albus Dumbledore to Harry.

Harry James Potter (b. 31 July 1980) was a half-blood wizard, the only child and son of James Potter and Lily Potter (née Evans), and one of the most famous wizards of modern times. In what proved to be a vain attempt to circumvent a prophecy that a boy born at the end of July of 1980 could be able to defeat him, Voldemort attempted to murder him when he was a year and three months old, shortly after murdering Harry's parents as they tried to protect him. This early, unsuccessful attempt to vanquish Harry led to Voldemort's first defeat and the end of the First Wizarding War. One consequence of Lily's protection is that her orphaned son had to be raised by her only remaining blood relative, Petunia Dursley, where he was neither welcomed nor nurtured, but would stay alive, at least until he was seventeen years old. As the only known survivor of the Killing Curse up to that point, Harry was already famous before he arrived at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

  • Words cannot express how much that sucks. I have some idea, though - I probably have fibromyalgia as well, and a bunch of other annoying but minor health problems. I had a friend who had transverse myelitis, and another who had RD. I know it doesn't really help, but please know there are people who truly empathize and wish you well.

    • She has 5 fractures of her pelvis and Hip Socket.  She is going in the hospital today for surgery.  She is highly allergic to anesthetics so they have their work cut out for them.  I probably won't be posting much, but knowing me I may be quite prolific being here alone with the dogs when I am not visiting Pam.  ------------------------  R

  • I would love these, but ut says they have been removed. Copyright issues?

    • No, I was moving from one storage to another and they apparently got lost in the shuffle.  I am looking for it  now.  I am having difficulty finding it so my guess is that it was lost in a hard drive crash 2 months ago.  I lost 3 Tb of stuff and it appears all of my ebooks.  I have to go to the doctors today, for my wife and I.  She fell and cracked her pelvis.  It may take me a few days but I will try and find this set again.  -----------------------------------------------  R

    • I'm so sorry, on all counts.  I hope your wife gets well soon - you guys don't deserve this!

    • Thanks for the well wishes for Pam.  Today it is an MRI of pelvis and spine.  You are right, she does not deserve this.  She started out with acute fibromyalgia which about 8 months ago turned into Fibromyalgia and MS.  She lost sensation to about 75% of her body.  In order to feel if something was hot or cold she had to touch it to her face.  The sad part is that she appeared to be going into remission and was beginning to feel more and able to walk with the walker.   Then she fell 3 times in 1 week.  The first 2 were uneventful but the third was the killer.  She cannot bear weight on that leg and can only stand and pivot.  Both of us were RNs for 30 plus years each and we are quite worried.  This does not bode well.  Thanks again for your concern.

I did not find the set but I have found an illustrated British set and I think a non illustrated American set.  I just have to finish getting them.  --------------------------------------  R
