You're Entering The Twilight Zone
Alan Dein explores the classic American television series The Twilight Zone, as well as the life and imagination of its creator, Rod Serling.
Fifty years ago, Serling ushered audiences into a new realm of light and shadow. He had already electrified the new medium of television with his powerful dramas and their explorations of race, morality and capitalism, but now he offered glimpses of American dreams and nightmares.
Thanks Riklaa,
One of my all time favourite US TV series. Well written and casted stories of time, space and imagination that television can seldom match today. I think the introductory voice-over worked better as a device before Rod insisted on popping into vision on the intro, which dated the presentational style somewhat.
Best episodes ?
My favourites would have to be :
The Four Of Us Are Dying
The Last Flight
Escape Clause
And When The Sky Was Opened
Judgement Night
What You Need
Time Enough At Last
Hi Edward,
Have you listened to the new twilight Zone Radio Shows. They are also excellent. If my memory serves me right, they are posted in Radio Revival.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Rick
Hi Rick,
Spotted them but thought they were audio-only transfer's from the original TV shows until I played the start of a couple of them. Maybe I will give them another shot based on your recommendation. Thanks again for the radio doc on Rod Serling - fascinating. I didn't realise he had such a devilish sense of humour about the TV industry's lack of courage in failing to give him more scope after Twilight Zone. He left a great legacy despite that impasse...

Rick -
Thanks so much for this offering. I loved Sterling's performance and I especially admired his writing.

Truly a visionary and far ahead of his time. ---------------------------- Rick
