The History Of The Shadow HQ
For eighty years, fans of radio mystery have thrilled to the mocking tones of The Shadow's sinister laughter and to the daring adventures of radio's greatest crime-fighter. In this sound portrait of The Shadow, produced by David Goldin, his mysterious origins are recalled in recorded interviews by Walter Gibson, who created Lamont Cranston and wrote 283 Shadow novels, and by Ken Roberts, the announcer who introduced The Shadow broadcasts for more than a decade. Bret Morrison remembers how he won the title role, while Grace Matthews and Gertrude Warner discuss the trials and tribulations of portraying Cranston's friend and companion, Margot Lane. The recollections of scriptwriter Sydney Slon, announcer Andre Baruch, organist Rosa Rio and program syndicator Charles Michelson are also heard, bringing to life memories of the great performers who cast a long "shadow" over the golden age of radio drama. Now the Story of the Shadow is available in High Quality.

I like to keep an MP3 disc of all the shows I like - I use this site and download stuff extensively (and also Calfkiller's OTR site) but I do like having an actual disc wherever possible - but it's been impossible to get a Shadow MP3 CD. Pretty much every other OTR show I want is available easily on Ebay, usually pretty cheaply (I recently got all 1500 odd Lone Rangers for about $5) - but the Shadow has been as elusive as the name suggests!
I wonder if it's to do with RADIO SPIRITS claiming the rights to a lot of old broadcasts - but the other stuff they seemed to have cliamed still seem to be knocking about in MP3 CD-R format!
