It doesn’t seem like it was 50 years ago I saw this film as a 16 year old.

In this celebration of Julie Andrew's starring role in the screen version of The Sound of Music, Mark Kermode looks back at the evolution of the movie.

Featuring archived interviews with Maria Von Trapp, and the film's stars and crew - including Christopher Plummer and director Robert Wise.

    I remember watching this movie on tv as a kid several times.  It was a great favorite with my family.  Seems like it always came on a Saturday night.  Thank you for sharing.

    Every time i hear this refrain, I am reminded of Barbra Streisand's concert in Central Park.

    She began singing ..."The hills are alive ...." and then added sotto voce ".. and it's very frightening ..."
