Midnight In Peking

Roman Polanski's Chinatown meets Tin-Tin and The Blue Lotus. A true life murder, miserable and sad,  made listenable by the ambience of Old Peking, The Fox Tower (and the possible presence of fox spirits - preferable to most of the Europeans in the story) and the Japanese invasion. Episode 4 was truly horrifying though understated, Much scaryer to me than any number of "horror" stories. BBC Book Of The Week along with Dian Rehm interview @
