Here is a fascinating factual story featuring Sherlock Holmes’ creator, Arthur Conan Doyle, called “Elementary, my Dear Corpse!”  It is by James W. Booth.  I found it in a very unlikely Place.  It was being used as filler in a "Captain Zero" pulp audio book I listened to.  I found it quite interesting as it is a true story involving A.C. Doyle and involving Sherlock Holmes' methodology, and a real murder. I hope you like it as well.

  • Thank you!  Like Roger, I must confess that this work is new to me.

I do know that Peter has a first edition of Doyle's original book (first US edition, I think) that he found in a used book store in Manhattan years ago. I think he'll be intrigued by this new treatment when he returns from a job assignment.

As an aside, the Minnesota catalog shows only the one entry for this work - the "Captain Zero" pulp cited by Rick.

An article concerning the Slater/Edalji cases, couched in a Sherlockian framework.
