  • RICK:

Season One, Episode Two does not download correctly. It stops abruptly at about 25 MB.  Tried several times on two machines - same result.

    Everything else seems okay

    • I reuploaded a different encode of that show.  it is out of place in the list just above the S02 shows and is an mp4.  Please let me know if that one works.  I tried the original of the  other one and it has a glitch right where it stops.  I downloaded those to post and had not watched them.  it would take a month to upload the set I have for myself which is 1080i and each show is between 2 and 4 gig.  I did not even want to tie up my computer long enough to upload those.  Thanks for letting me know. Oh, the second season link for Doctor Blake is up in the original post.  Enjoy and thanks!    -----------------------------------  R

    • Thank you, sir.

    • You are quite welcome my friend,  ----------------------   R

    • Thanks for season 2.  I thoroughly enjoyed season 1.

  • Glad you are enjoying the show.   I suppose it takes a while to get used to the tone of the show --  Phryne is sort of the Auntie Mame of the detective genre.

    • Exactly ! I knew she reminded me of someone ... ^_^

  • Thank you Rick - very entertaining - although Essie was a bit flouncy at the start - overall I found her presentation a needed offset to he other  more conventional characters - ^ the tango scene redeemed all

    • That was one of my favorites Reuben.  Sometime between now and next week I will post the second season.  Although it doesn't have an under-story that continues throughout the season that comes to fruition in the last episode it is still good with separate little Whodunits.

I actually think that it took a few shows to get into the characters.  Essie's character is a flouncy character and if it was the same in Australia as it was here in the 1920s after The Great War many personalities were changed and the 1920s made many people more flamboyant with thoughts of starting over and there never being another war.  Now we know different, but people were changed by it and full of life just to offset the tragedy they had been through in the War to End All Wars.  ------------------------------------------  R

    • Okay, Okay- I need to detract, subtract and distract on a number of issues here. Bob, my humblest apologies for calling you A----. While I will not be taking up the position of Essie Davis' manager, I do bow down to those who enjoy her performance. Rick, I agree that Dot is a good foil to Miss Fisher. Phew!!! With that out of the way (and war possibly avoided between our two fine nations), let me state that I am extremely proud that you are enjoying some good Aussie entertainment. However, fair dinkum and fair suck of the sausage, how do you blokes and sheilas understand our rippapoody and fandoogtily accents. PS: We do not throw shrimps on the barby!!!! LOL.... Great to have some banter on the site. Cheers, Dave (aka Essie Davis' Fan Club President).
