Whispering Smith

The character Whispering Smith, loosely based on Allan Pinkerton the first head of the United States Secret Service was originally portrayed by Alan Ladd in a 1948 movie. In 1961 NBC aired a the series "Whispering Smith". Audie Murphy filled the title role as an early western police detective working out of Denver Colorado. These links are to 6 of the 26 episodes that were filmed although only 20 were broadcast.
