Casablanca (1942)

Casablanca is a 1942 American romantic drama film directed by Michael Curtiz and based on Murray Burnett and Joan Alison's un-produced stage play Everybody Comes to Rick's. The film stars Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergman, and Paul Henreid; and features Claude Rains, Conrad Veidt, Sydney Greenstreet, Peter Lorre, and Dooley Wilson. Set during World War II, it focuses on a man torn between, in the words of one character, "love and virtue". He must choose between his love for a woman and helping her Czech Resistance leader husband escape the Vichy-controlled Moroccan city of Casablanca to continue his fight against the Nazis.

Casablanca won three Academy Awards, including Best Picture. Its lead character, memorable lines, and pervasive theme song have all become iconic. The film has consistently ranked near the top of lists of the greatest films of all time.

While it is not perfect, I finally found the copy I was going to post originally.  I had never posted  a Colorized Casablanca because, although I knew i had a fairly good copy of the original Colorization and it was an mp4, I could not find it and presumed it lost in a HD crash.  When I was collecting from various disks for posting colorizations I thought I found it looked at the intro to the movie and it was the right color so I posted it.  I then saw Bob's note and checked the movie in all different spots and realized it was not the one I was looking for.  I have now looked through a whole lot of my disks and finally I found the right one.  This is the best copy I could find of the rare original colorization.  If I could find a place to buy the disk I would buy it.

While I agree with Bob about colorizations there are some that are very enjoyable.  I enjoyed watching this one because it gave a new slant on a movie I really love.  As to it being better than the Original Black and White, it is not.  It is just a different way to enjoy the story, as are all Colorizations of Famous Movies.  Here is the LINK.
