You may have to pardon a thousand inaccuracies, remembering how difficult it was to film during the scramble to war and the restrictions they faced. The modeling and scenes of aircraft and ship miniatures were already in the can by spring of '42. I ended up stopping the movie several times to read up on locations, some of which i correctly guessed were in Florida. The B-17A models along with the B and C's were extremely rare in film and this movie used all 3, not realistic for the period in this story but the appearances were appreciated. William Faulkner was credited for the death bed scene near the end. A very fun film if you enjoy early war patriotism and action.
