    Being a fan of the original TV series I was prepared to loathe these but they are really good. The enthusiasm is infectious. Monat & Appleby do justice to Steed & Mrs. Peel. They have a wonderful charm with the plumy voiced newsreader narrating the story including the fights.

    Of interest to any Avengers fans is the fact they got hold of original scripts probably with material that was edited from screened stories. They certainly used the original version of ‘Too Many Steeds’ when it was set in Spain & called ‘Too Many Oles’.

    It’s a real shame the series had to end when copyright holders EMI pulled the plug. In ‘The Great Gong Robbery’ there’s many references to the fact that they'd been decommissioned or 'bowler hated'.

Love,JB;The Saint;Mission Impossible etc. First season of Man from U.N.C.L.E. was all time fave. I used to tape Saint from a little TV I had with a cassette built into it! Thanks guys! - Ron L.
