The Egyptian Collection
By Kate Pullinger.

So obsessed does she become that she bunks off school to spend time in the British Museum studying texts and artifacts of the era, quickly becoming an authority. But the war with Germany is at its height. The museum authorities try to ban her on safety grounds. But, ironically during an air attack it is she who saves a major manuscript and the career of a curator who acknowledges her insights.

This sounds just up my street thanks for finding and sharing
Paul
I always laugh when I hear a British phrase like "just up my street" and compare it to how it is said here in the US "right up my alley". They are so close and I wonder how that happens. Oh well I guess there are some things we will never know. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rick
