Yet another Classic Drama with no descriptive text. These plays were missing and being kept secret by private collectors for so long that even Suttonelm has no text for them, just the scant information above in the "LOST" list and now a "Found" notation tacked on at the end. We are getting them so quickly that they haven't been reviewed yet and the Beeb is restoring and playing them on "4 Extra" without accompanying text on most of them. Again I ask that if you have any info please post it or after you listen please write a text description, if you are so inclined and post it here. This request goes for all the Vintage SNTs I am posting. It is a good thing that there are all shapes and sizes of Question Mark illustrations on the net because it looks like I may need them! ---------- Rick

Another synopsis for you Rick
Brian is the favourite and only son of Mr & Mrs Shackleton. They are thinking he has come back from college to marry Hilary. Instead he intends to work at the family mill as an apprentice. It will be a hard slog.
Hilary is not sure that she can commit to the change of circumstances and marry.
Brian has progressive ideas about the mill which lead to the setting up of a trade union, much against his father’s wishes.
He wants women to be on an equal par with men and for there to be participation between management and staff.
The first thing needing to be changed is the toilets cleanliness. Then the employees’ wages are below the national average.
April puts her name down to be shop steward.
A management-union meeting results in April being fired.
She promptly calls the workers out on strike.
Hilary announces she is coming for a visit.
A meeting with the whole Shackleton Family leads to a change of opinion by the management. They accept things have to change.
April tells Brian she doesn’t want him, that he used her as his conscience. She has plans for the Union.
Hilary changes Brian’s mind about leaving the mill by saying she will stay and marry him.
I do like a happy ending.
Thank You again William!! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rick
