"It's a great life...if you don't weaken."
That's the motto of Arthur Seaton - Britain's original Angry Young Man. Arthur punches the clock at a Nottingham steel factory, waiting for Saturday night when he explodes a week's worth of pent-up passions in outrageous drinking bouts, pub-clearing brawls and encounters with other men's wives. The Sunday morning hangovers do nothing to dull Arthur's rebellious nature.
With Jamie Glover [Arthur Seaton], Anita Carey [Brenda], Caroline Catz [Doreen], Edward Peel [Harold], Elizabeth Estensen [Ada / Doreen's Mother], Alison Skilbeck [Vera / Mrs Mackley / Bar Woman], Paul Haigh [Bert / Alf], John Samson [Robboe / Policeman 1/ Swaddie 1 / Waiter], David Holt [Jack / Man 1 / Man in Pub], Jilly Bond [Betty / Mrs. Rowe / Lil / Larry / Woman in Street], Gillian Barge [Mrs. Bull / Wife], Bill Homewood [The loudmouth / Mr. Bull], Stephen Thorne [Uncle George / Policeman 2 / Publican], and Steven Webb [Tommy]
