  • Many thanks Mike - it's a very lively production and a good quality recording.

Are you 100% sure it's the 1950 version? I don't recognise Hugh Burden's voice as Darcy.

Apologies in advance if I'm wrong.

There was also a 6 episode 1975 CS that, I think, has been released on TS as 12 ~25min episodes. A  USA rebroadcast was shared by SadSack and a UK one by KidCurry over on OTRplus (http://otrplus.com/viewtopic.php?t=19537 http://otrplus.com/viewtop...).

    • You can hear Mr Darcy (in conversation with Elizabeth) in episode 11 ~7:40.

I'm fairly certain that isn't dear old Hugh Burden.

    • You are indeed correct. This is 12 part version of the 1975 6 part classic serial version. It was broadcast as a 12 part version in the USA on public radio and was recorded by sadsack.

      Thanks Sadsack

I have changed the date to 1975 at the above link

    • I asked the collector I got it from and he said he got it off youtube and another collector said  said he recognized some of the actor's voices as being the 50's version but I still think its the 1975 version but do not know for sure.

    • Thanks Mike.

I've been in contact with SadSack and compared these recordings to ones that were shared on OTRPlus. To within a second, the episodes match in length and seem to be identical, just re-encoded. The introductory music is very recognisable.

      Here are episode 1 & 12 from OTRplus 2009 (http://otrplus.com/viewtopic.php?t=10343), 40kbps MP3.

Genome's "Unknown: Jane Austen" made me laugh - perhaps the BBC don't have any idea who she was, but we do!

    • Thanks so much for clearing the mystery up. Its still a great version and thanks to sadsack for recording it.

  • Thanks Very Much!!!
