About THE SILENT BATTLE.
From p.8 of the introduction by Douglas G Greene to "The Dead Sleep Lightly" by John Dickson Carr. (The Crime Club. 1983)
Carr's SUSPENSE scripts were soon exhausted, and he wrote a second and then third series of new plays for APPOINTMENT WITH FEAR. Meanwhile, he continued preparing propaganda scripts. THE SILENT BATTLE, a series of six plays broadcast in 1944, deserves to be well remembered. As well as emphasizing the nastiness of the Nazis, THE SILENT BATTLE focuses on the actions and emotions of the underground front in the occupied countries. All six plays are well plotted, but one is especially noteworthy for Carr's use of his favorite device, the miracle problem. Where would the Polish underground hide a radio so that the most thorough search by the Gestapo would fail to find it? The answer is typically John Dickson Carr: the radio is hidden in the false hunchback of a hurdy-gurdy man.

    • I'll send you a link and you'll have to hunt threw the files!

    • Are you posting it or what?  -----  R

    • I'm not sure.  First I have to develop it, upload files to it and then I'll let you and Bob decide if it's something that you think would fit in here.

    • Fit in here?   Like I said, if you enjoy it someone else will.  Post it, don't be shy!  There are many things that I posted on a whim saying to myself.  What the hell, let's see if it flies.  Go for it.  -----------------------------------------  R

    • There are some, but not a group or section per se.  There are some WWII comics about in the comics section also.  I have a small collection of my own and have posted quite a few of them. As for your question about what we want to include on the site.  The answer is anything you want to post post just find the group that most closely and broadly fits the post and go to it.  There are groups specifically for OTR and if you are going to post it I stongly suggest one of those.  You could put the whole thing in collections and ask for fills.  ------------------------  R
