This comedy drama uses the device of an inquisitive visitor bringing out the worst and the truth in a group. Here, that group is a family struggling to run a seaside guesthouse through some lean times.

 

Brian and Maureen have long lost their hope and their love, while their son Nathaniel retreats into fantasy role-playing games. You know things would carry on exactly as they are, but for a seemingly small incident that brings the insurance inspector.
