You can find all 26 episodes of the 1979  to 1902 BBC proction of Anthony Powell's A Dance To The Music Of Time.. Even at 26 eps it covers only a third (or perhaps a half) of the original. Particularly missing is the blend of elaborate syntaxe and straight forward diction that characyerize the novels. .Powell has been likened to Waugh but whereas Waugh is slapstick and bitter, Powell is melancholy and elegiac.. Dance is very high brow soap and if it has a moral it is that it takes all types to make a world. When I get the time I will ad to the same folder the 2008  BBC Classic Serial  though I've never been able to listen to more than 10 minutes of it, so poorly does it translate the elegant original.
