Hey guys,
With Halloween approaching, I am in the process of loading as many OTR episodes that are Halloween related onto my ipod to help get in the spirit of things. Just wondering if anyone on here has any particular episodes that are favorites? Personally, I love the Jack Benny Show Halloween episode where the gang goes to play a prank on Basil Rathbone's house. Also, while it is certainly not OTR, the Bob Dylan Radio Show Hour did a great Halloween theme a few years back. It had a lot of well known songs like Monster Mash, but also included a lot of "deep cuts" that I had never heard of. Bob also had some great in between song commentary on all things Halloween related. Anyhow, any help would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Scott

One that's grown on me is WKBW's evening of halloween programing from 1973. Including an updated War of the Worlds.

Thanks a lot Matt! I went ahead and downloaded the broadcast and found it to be very well done. I loved how all the commercials were included and it definitely gave me a sense of what it would have been like driving around in NY listening to the station on Halloween of '73. This program is a classic that will now become an annual listening tradition during the Halloween season for me!

Your welcome. I agree about the commercials. I like finding an OTR programme that still has the commercials. It gives a real context to the time period.

Hi Matt,
It is already posted on Times Past in Holidays.
At Halloween I enjoy a mix of the old and the new. For the old, you newer arrivals to Times Past might try the group search in Happy Holidays. There is quite a bit there from Halloweens Past. Try a search For "Hegel's Halloween Happening" and you might be surprised at what you find. Try searching Halloween in the horror group search also. My favorite Halloween or anytime scary story is The Stones of Muncaster Cathedral.

Happy hunting, there are many here and post your favorites in Holidays if the theme is Halloween and in Horror and Suspense if it is just plain scary. If it is a single reader or and Audio-Book it goes in Spoken Word. Remember Tis the Season to be Scary! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rick
Thanks so much for the link and the add in for the Suspense and Horror group Rick! I will be sure to report back once I have listened to The Stones of Muncaster Cathedral. Should be a real spine tingler!
