Hi
I have just read an email from Ric and realised I have never said thank you for all the wonderfull OTR's I have listened to from your site.
Having been raised from the 40's I used to love listening to the radio. I live in Australia and the radio stations broadcasted quite a number of American Radio shows and substituted Australian actors. ( I'm not sure if they purchased the scrips) The BBC programmes were played as was, mainly via the ABC (Australian Broadcasting Commission) and there were a lot of local shows.
From the early part of WW11 through to the early 60's radio was a big part of our lives. One thing you could do was to listed to the radio and still be able to spend time on your school homework. On my sixth birthday a local station sent me birthdays wishes, with the sound of a train that stopped outside my home and a present was left at the back of the radio. It took me years to work out how it got there.
What is my favourite show, you may ask. "Dad's Army" a clever, funny, nostolgic show that I listen to over and over agian.
Keep up the good work
Mike
