Hi, folks.

I'm from the California Historical Radio Society, established in 1974 promote the research, restoration, preservation and presentation of early radio and broadcasting.   Our museum is in a former radio station.
We have electrical transcription discs of vintage radio shows at our museum and will soon be offering them for download at our website.  Once we have a number ready for download, we will begin making announcements here at your message board, and at other OTR boards.  All downloads will be available for free.

Our announcement post is up now, so please visit us at

If you have any questions, please post them over there.  We can only do museum business once a week (we are all volunteers), so any questions you post here at Times Past will get answered on the next weekend day we are open.

Thanks, and look for more our first download in a few weeks.

  • Thanks for the nice welcome.

Just this morning I put the finishing touches on a nice episode that appears to be unavailable in digital format. I will be posting it within the next two weeks.

I'll make sure to post an announcement here.

And thank you Robert, for the referral to the blog.  I'll start looking into how to post there.

  • Welcome, always interested in the preservation of radio. I would suggest since you are a member here now, that you consider posting on the Times Past Blog with events, updates, and any other information about the California Historical Radio Society. The Blog reaches a lot of places off the Times Past site.
