How To Download A HQ Video from YouTube in MP4

Sometimes you may want to download the best copy of a video from YouTube, and then re-upload to TimesPast instead of embedding the code from YouTube.

There is different ways to do this, but here is the easy way. There is a web site that has done all the work for you.

It is called ouideo. Go to ouideo and do your search for the video there. It will pull up one result to play and others on left to choose from.

Once you have the video you want, click on the green (download that video) and it will take you to the download page.

From there you will see in green again
Download mp4
- (right click on the link, "Save As or Save Target", and enter video name .mp4).

Important: Name the file and add .mp4 extension before you save. That is it.

Then you can upload the higher quality to TimesPast if want or save for your collection. Just in case your hard drive is not full. LOL

Give it a a try by clicking ouideo

Thank you, Robert. I have always wondered if the you tube videos could be downloaded.

This is an easy way, and the file is not in .flv, but in mp4, ready for an iPod or Zune

Simple! Thank for the tip :)
I know it isn't the same, but I use FIREFOX as a browser on a Mac and to date I have been using the Firefox addon, Download Helper. It puts a little icon in your task bar and whenever you are on a page that has a moving picture (eg. Youtube) then the icon becomes anumated and allows you to download. It also queues your downloads so you can continue surfing while they download. It' quite neat :)

I have seen that and use it also. The one I have downloads a .flv file only on my windows platform. The way I mentioned above gives you a .MP4 file and is ready for an iPod or Zune, ect.

That's even better :)
I've just downloaded one now to see how it works. How easy is that!
