How in the world did they ever survive on $500 a year??? Of course, I can remember going to the gas station with my dad in the early 60s and helping him fill up the gas tank at 25 cents a gallon.......and getting an orange crush soda in a bottle out of the machine for a nickel.

Here is a weird fact I got from a 1953 episode of Jack Benny. It seems back then everyone making over $500 a year had to pay taxes. How times change...

I was double checking what Jack Benny Shows I with OTRR Library and I discovered a few they didn't have.

Thanks for the membership.

If any members are in Los Angeles, there is a theater called "Golden Age Theater" that does live readings of 30's/40's era pulp fiction.

Hollywood actors, sound effects, live audience in a theater setting - it's a ton of fun and they have great food afterwards!

If you're in LA on Saturdaym haven't been to one of their shows and would like to go, text the word, Golden to 67777 and you'll get two free tickets! If you've already been at one of the shows, you KNOW how much fun it is. If you present the coupon, you'll get buy one, get one free.

Thought I'd let you know

Mysteriously Yours,
Lauren

Born 10 years too late. Announced for WXYZ Detroit in post-Lone Ranger 1965. Have downloaded several hundred OTRs from iTunes. Will never hear them all but, hey, why not try?

Can you send me the link to the Fill-ins for Saturday Night Theatre.  I accidentally deleted your post. Many Thanks! jimb

Big time Boo-boo

I have messed around and deleted the ‘S’ folder from the library.  I am in the process of restoring it but it will take several days.  I’ll get Saturday Night Theatre up as soon as possible. jimb

To All Library Users

I have made a boo-boo somehow and accidentally moved all the ‘S’ Files to the bottom of the ‘R’ folder.  Until I can figure out a way to fix this, this is where you can find them. Anyone with a solution, mail me off-list. Thanks jimb
